Don't miss
this once in a Millennium get-together of Punch Profs and enthusiasts
in a weekend of shows, workshops and seminars hosted under the
auspices of Old Red Nose. A chance to see guest performers from
the UK and overseas, to party with them and to celebrate the Punch
tradition as it enters the 21st Century.
Events (times and details below)also include FREE skills workshops and FREE entry to
a range of Punch debates and seminars plus a Millenniumum Photo-call
(Sun 2 o'c)
for all Profs
who bring their Punches. And of course there will be shows galore
plus Giant Dancing Punch and Judy (Sun. 11 o'c, 1.30 & 4.15) and a String of Sausages
Conga.(Sun.
1.30) and, of
course, Punch & Judy Shows from among the finest UK performers. (Sat: 11.15, 1.30 &
3.15. Plus Sun: 12 o'c & 2.15)

photographic exhibition Shoot The Puppet: Shoot The Puppeteer,

Binod Das Baul (Sat.

bring the irrepressible Pulcinella all the way from the
place of his birth.

Sweden.
Sat 2 o'c Sun. 2.45 Company Maskaras bring
the feisty little frying-pan weilding folk hero Vitez Lazslo
from his native Hungary.

1st International Slapstick Symposium

in association with The Punch & Judy College of Professors.
This is an opportunity for some serious - and not so serious -
debate about the Punch tradition. Each day
11.15 - 12.30
Saturday: Punch's Women Performers (leader: Caz Frost) and
Punch's Home Truths (leader: Dan Bishop)Sunday: Punch and Political Correctness (leader: Clive Chandler)and
Punch in the 21st Century (leader: Glyn Edwards). These
millennial deliberations will be published afterwards both on
the web and in print.

to be answered by the assembled Punch professors.
