All About Us

My mum and dad were variety performers. My dad later produced pantomimes and seaside summer shows. I’ve produced TV shows and events myself as well as being a ‘Prof’.

I married Mary - niece of the celebrated puppeteer John Wright who founded London’s Little Angel Theatre. Mary has spent a lifetime as a professional puppeteer/puppet maker for theatre, television and film.

Our daughter Katey is a Punch Prof and third generation puppeteer. Her daughter Roisin is a keen fan of Mr. Punch and may yet be the fourth generation in a family tradition.

We have a family history – too – of promoting the Punch and Judy tradition itself. From Mr. Punch’s 300th birthday in 1962 to his recent 350th in 2012 and onwards we’ve been proud to be ambassadors for this great British tradition and to have organised many of its major events.

Business as unusual!

Mr. Punch's Prof is back in action after his
visits to Dr. Quack and the gang.

He's running a season of
The Academy of Punch & Judy
at the West Pier Centre.

Every Tuesday from
May 21st to Sept 3rd.

Your free drop-in opportunity
to learn - or learn about - the skills of
traditional and modern Punch & Judy.

Performances on the Piazza this season
will be sporadic depending on weather
and Mr. Punch's whims.

Mr. Punch remains available for
public engagements at
fetes, carnivals, fundays etc.

Mr. Punch is delighted to still be a seaside favourite in the 21st C.
and would like to share a few of his recent favourite feedback quotes.

"This is the best thing on the whole seafront. My heart is all warm from my childhood. The artistry is so wonderful". Jenny

"I could watch it a thousand times and laugh as much the thousandth time as I did the first." Beth

"My heart, it boils. Mr. Punch. I am in love." Asha
